About
From the Midwest to the West Coast.
Kara's theatrical journey kicked off in 2008 when they bravely took the stage for a few auditions and shows. However, the spotlight wasn't their true calling. Kara discovered their knack and passion behind the scenes, excelling as a stage manager, director, and lighting designer during their undergrad adventures. Embracing these behind-the-scenes roles, Kara recognized their importance and influence in the theatrical world.
Post-graduation, Kara leaped into community theatre and other local organizations, adding vibrant energy to their town's artistic scene. The pandemic nudged Kara towards the intriguing realm of intimacy in theatre, leading them to dive into classes on Theatrical Intimacy Education. Fueled by newfound interests, they decided to return to school, pursuing an MFA in Theatre at the University of Idaho, focusing on Pedagogy, Intimacy Education, and Design and Technology.
Currently stationed in the Midwest with their partner, two dogs, and a cat, Kara finds joy in family hikes, exploring state parks, and hosting backyard bonfires. Beyond personal pleasures, they are deeply engaged with local theatres, juggling both freelance and educational endeavors on the move. Kara's journey continues, seamlessly blending fun with professionalism in the vast and vibrant world of theatre.
